A VERY PINK VALENTINE’S DAY

It’s no surprise that we at Can Can LOVE to celebrate love. We love the grand gestures, the love notes, the moment two hands touch while reaching for the last beignet… you get it.

While Valentine’s Day may not always be received with arms as wide as Jonny’s when he welcomes us to the Can Can at the start of every performance, we believe in the power of love and advocate for its celebration as often as possible.

Whether you’ve been together for two months or two decades, there’s no doubting the undertone of stress that comes with planning the perfect Valentine’s Day. But fret not, fellow heart-shaped candy enthusiasts! This year we’re taking it upon ourselves to play Cupid and give you the blueprints for a perfect 14th of February.

We wanted to set you up for success, dear readers, so we went straight to the top. This article is all about the icon herself, Fae Pink, and all of her favorite things in hopes of inspiring a few fun additions to your day. From her go-to coffee order to most frequented boutiques, we asked Fae for all the deets for the must-sees and eats around the city. Read on for a perfectly curated itinerary that’s sure to spark a little romance, and leave you feeling as glamorous as Fae herself.

BUT FIRST, COFFEE

Fae Pink: I always order coffee in The Dressing Room when I get to work.

My usual order is my faithful double oat milk latte with one stevia! On the days when I need to get out and get a little fresh air after being inside all day, I walk to my favorite coffee shop “Ghost Alley” and order the exact same thing!

Fae Pink: In a perfect heart-shaped world I would eat the French Toast every single day… But I usually order the market breakfast, Petit Déjeuner du Marché, with veggie sausage and sub in avocado slices for the potatoes. Our kitchen slices avocado perfectly and I always order avocado with everything ... except the French Toast. Fae laughs.

EXPLORE A NEW PART OF THE CITY

Fae Pink: I love strolling through different neighborhoods and exploring. My perfect afternoon includes a Yoga session at SweatBox on Cap Hill, followed by bagels at Eltana. Nothing beats strolling through Fremont Market, especially when it’s warm outside! When the weekend rolls around, check out the Ballard Farmers Market, before heading to dinner at San Fermo.

STOP BY PIKE PLACE MARKET

Fae Pink: There’s so much to see in our lovely market that we get call home. I have a few must-sees whenever we stop by that are a perfect addition to any day-date.

Stop by Le Panier for fresh croissants.

Pop in Tenzing Momo for herbs, potions and incense.

The Market Magic Shop for a fun stop with our kids, they have something for everyone.

Browse Lionheart Bookstore for a lazy afternoon book browsing.

Visit Kitchen and Market for dinner ideas or a warm chocolate chip cookie (or both).

Never say no to a quick stop at Daily Dozen for fresh little donuts.

….And you can’t forget strolling through the day vendors and picking up a bouquet of peonies! Peony season is just around the corner.

SHOP FAE’S FAVORITES FOR THE PERFECT VALENTINE’S GIFTS

Fae Pink: I love Fini across the street from Can Can. Perfectly curated gift items! There are so many great finds that will help celebrate your person. I love their jewelry! Can’t go wrong with a statement ring or fun earrings.

For home decor finds, I love a trip to Ballard Consignment or searching for gems at Fremont Vintage Mall.

I always try to shop local but true confessions… but my guilty pleasure is walking through U Village with girlfriends and shopping the Anthropologie sale racks. I’d never say no to a date night that involves a little shopping, either.

PLAN THE PERFECT DATE NIGHT AT HOUSE OF HEARTS

Fae Pink: House of Hearts is such a special show for us. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate love in all forms than to join our fabulous team for dinner and a show.

Feel like trying something new? Fae recommends:

The No Groni is delish- I’ve been loving our NA drinks lately!
Try the King Salmon entree paired with the Kale Caesar salad…you can thank me later.

For dessert, an order of the Croissant Beignets is a MUST.
