Galentine’s Day is Taking Over Seattle

Well y’all, I think we did it. We partied with Oogie Boogie, drank the pumpkin-spiced lattes, welcomed a large man in a suit to slide down our chimneys, and bid farewell to 2022. Let’s all take a collective sigh of relief that the holiday season is over.

Except… *cue Jaws theme song* there's suddenly a wave of heart-shaped boxes and pink-colored everything taking over the aisles of retail stores across the nation.

Yes, the V word is right around the corner.

Now trust me, we LOVE pink. And we LOVE love. But we don’t think cheesy one-liners and chocolate-induced comas should be privy to twosomes.

Which is why this year, we’re all about Galentine’s Day: a day dedicated to all the fabulous friendships in your life, and we’re down to help spread the love. Enjoy our guide to the perfect Galentine’s events your whole squad will love.

START OFF YOUR DAY RIGHT WITH AN IG-WORTHY LATTE

Any Seattleite knows the only way to start your busy day is with large, aesthetically-pleasing coffee paired with an iconic backdrop. Ghost Alley Espresso in Post Alley does just that. Ghost Alley is a rich piece of the market’s history, as it’s built into part of the first public restrooms on the west coast. They were known as Comfort Station Number 1 and built in 1908 for the Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition. Treat yourself to a yummy latte with their house made syrups, and DO NOT SKIP OUT ON THE MERCH. We know you all have room on your hydroflasks for matching little ghost stickers.

STROLL THROUGH THE GARDEN OF GLASS

Spend the late morning strolling through Chihuly Garden and Glass. This iconic Seattle stop is visually stunning to say the least. This unique setting includes an eight gallery Exhibition surrounded by a richly landscaped Garden and a centerpiece Glasshouse featuring an expansive 100-foot-long sculpture in a color palette of reds, oranges, yellows and ambers. Chihuly Garden and Glass is not a typical museum. It’s unique, even eccentric. Instead of finding exhibitions of paintings and other regular artworks, visitors to Chihuly Garden and Glass will be met with beautifully sculptured glass at every turn and bend.

HOT TUB BOATS

Nothing, and we mean nothing, screams strong independent boss babes more than coordinated swimsuits, a charcuterie board, and a HOT TUB BOAT. Cruise through South Lake Union, flirt with the yacht owners, or just enjoy the vibes. Your boat also includes bluetooth speakers, and storage space for food and drinks. You and your gals can relax in warm water while enjoying the gorgeous scenery of the sound at the same time! The only requirement to rent one is a valid US driver’s license.

SNAP A PIC WITH THE SUPER CUTE PUBLIC MARKET SIGN AT PIKE PLACE MARKET

Pike Place Market serves as Seattle's largest hub of small, independent businesses and is likely the most iconic location in Seattle. One of the best things about Pike Place is simply wandering and enjoying all its yummy treats. Hundreds of local craftspeople, shops, beautiful flowers, produce, and restaurants are just waiting for you to Instagram within the market. What could be a cuter pic than trying to catch a 20lb fish being thrown at you across the market?

Okay, okay, posing with your flower bouquets would be cute too.

HEAD OVER TO CAN CAN FOR DINNER AND A SHOW!

If you frequent The Dressing Room, you’re familiar with the Parisian details and dreamy views of the Puget Sound from Post Alley in the famous Pike Place Market. The indoor bistro boasts bar and booth seating with décor inspired by Can Can’s collection of costumes from its catalog of shows and gives off mega cool girl vibes.

Stop by for a couple rounds of Big Richard Energys, or if you're a girly that likes a little kick - our bartender Annie makes a killer spicy marg.

The pommes frites and chef-select charcuterie board are perfect shareables for the table, and you can’t go wrong with a Can Can burger or salmon dish.

Just make sure you leave room for beignets.

What could be a better cherry on top of the perfect Galentines day in Seattle? Of course, it’s Can Can’s all-new original production of House of Hearts. Whether you’ve been jamming out to your “love sucks” playlist, here for a laugh, or desperate to know how an aspiring mime can revolt against the Queen's balls to find a happily ever after… this shows for you and the gals. Tickets can be purchased here.
